Manager immediately implements "New Ideas Mean New Savings Program," setting a Budget Reduction Goal of $5,000+ (or about a 6 percent).

Specific initiatives were as follows:
(Savings listed are 3-year totals)

1. A 3,060 savings resulted from the immediate cancellation of a floor mat/shop rag service.

2. A 1,200 savings resulted from strict enforcement of an Energy Savings Program.

3. An $800+ savings resulted from the retention of volunteers to handle refurbishing the large USAF Insignia in front of the NCAM; as well as the massive cleaning/reorganizing of Hangar 2. (110+ hours times $7.25/hr)

4. A $720 savings resulted from the renegotiation of the business internet contract.

5. A $650 savings resulted from pro bono computer assistance/parts/repairs from an old friend and a new friend.

6. A $500 savings resulted from the resurrection/modification/updating of our long, lost Rewards Program at Staples. Those many backdated monetary credit coupons sure came in handy that first six months.

7. A $400 savings resulted from the renegotiation of the business telephone contract. Many thank goes out here to one of the finest customer representatives I have ever had the pleasure to talk to, Stephanie Choi. What a class act, Embark is lucky to have you!

ACTUAL PROGRAM SAVINGS - $7,330 (or an 8-9 percent budget decrease). Also, Original Program Goal was exceeded by 47 percent.
