WGHP-TV VIDEO (January 2009) - A "Roy's Folks" feature, Fox 8's David Weatherly centers his piece on a new manager/curator trying to save  a struggling museum in transition; and the finest "Warbird" to visit the facility, a near-mint 1945 Chance Vought "Corsair," valued at more than $3 million. The aircraft was provided courtesy of Doug Matthews of ClassicFighters of America.com.

It was founded in 1981 by present museum curator and director, Mr. William Gasser.The mission of the "Tank Museum" is to collect, restore, preserve, and exhibit, a significant part of military tank and cavalry artifacts from all time periods and nations as is possible, and to educate present and future generations to the service and sacrifices given by the men and women of the armed services. The collection is exhibited in a 330,000-square-foot facility, which houses more than 110 Tanks and Artillery pieces.
